Maaa, I Gon To Play Mas, Ehh: is a heartfelt book that celebrates the vibrant culture of the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, focusing on one of its many festive traditions. This work is also a tribute to my late mother, who has passed down her legacy of preserving culinary traditions since our arrival in America and nurturing the spirit of Carnival within us. Through this celebration, I experience a profound sense of freedom, especially after serving in the military for nearly 19 years. I have actively participated in Carnival and encouraged my children to join in as well. As a naturalized citizen of the United States, I cherish my Trinidadian roots and aspire to pass this cultural heritage on to my children, my community, and anyone interested in understanding the significance of our celebrations.
